This project included the creation of a spacious new plaza area, while being fully operational and open to the public. The area featured the relocated gift shop and ticket kiosk, and the transformation of the historic May Company building to LACMA West. At LACMA West, the 48,000 sf of interior space was reconfigured into three galleries where state-of-the-art controls were installed for temperature, humidity and security systems. The galleries were linked by a café and retail promenade. Adhering to the schedule and completion date were crucial for the opening of the Vincent Van Gogh exhibit.
